Anambra Community Raises Alarm Over Assassination🗡 Attempt on Monarch.
Indigenes of Igbariam community in Anambra East local government area of Anambra State have decried recent assassination attempt on their monarch, Eze Dr. Nkeli Nzekwe Kelly.
They described the “palace coup”, as sacrilegious, insisting that thorough investigation be carried out by the police to fish out the perpetrators.
Speaking with newsmen on Monday at the monarch’s palace, a member of the community, Uche Okafor said investigation carried out by the community alleged an indigene(name withheld) masterminded the attack.
He however said the suspect had been at large since the incident happened and efforts to trace his whereabouts had been unsuccessful.
Appreciating God for sparing the lives of the monarchs and other victims, Okafor disclosed that no fewer than sixteen persons had been arrests in connection to the incident.
“Eight persons were shot but three sustained injuries. Sixteen persons have been arrested and some have confessed to the crime."
Narrating his ordeal, the traditional ruler of the community, said he had finished holding a meeting with his colleagues when the assassins stormed his palace.
